How Much Does Mobile Dog Grooming Cost in the Bay Area? (2026 Price Guide)
If you're searching for mobile dog grooming in San Francisco, the Peninsula or the South Bay, the first question is usually the same: how much does it cost? Here is a straight answer with real numbers, plus what actually moves the price up or down.
The quick answer
At Woofers Dog Spa, a bath & brush costs $99 to $149 and a full haircut costs $129 to $199, depending on your dog's size. Nail trims are always included. Some locations farther out may have a small travel fee, and we always confirm it before booking. See our service area.
Prices by dog size
Size is measured from the floor to the top of the shoulder:
- Small (12" or less): Bath & brush $99 · Full haircut $129
- Medium (12" to 16"): Bath & brush $109 · Full haircut $149
- Large (16" to 20"): Bath & brush $129 · Full haircut $179
- X-Large (20" or up): Bath & brush $149 · Full haircut $199
Not sure which size your dog is? Our size and price guide shows common breeds for each size, like Yorkies and Shih Tzus (small), Cavaliers and Cocker Spaniels (medium), mini doodles (large) and Goldens, Labs and standard doodles (X-large).
What's included
A bath & brush includes a premium shampoo bath, blow dry and brush out, nail trim, ear cleaning and a face and feet tidy. A full haircut includes everything in the bath plus a breed-appropriate haircut and sanitary trim. Every groom happens one-on-one inside our van, so your dog never waits in a cage or next to other dogs.
What can change the price
- Matting. Tight mats take extra time and care to remove safely. Heavy matting may need a dematting or shave-down add-on ($45). We always check with you first.
- Heavy shedding. A de-shedding treatment ($45) removes loose undercoat from double-coated breeds like Huskies, Shepherds and Goldens.
- Special shampoos. Flea treatment bath ($20), sensitive care shampoo ($20) or hypoallergenic, fragrance-free shampoo ($15).
- Extras. Nail painting ($15), or skunk odor removal ($280) for that very bad night.
Is mobile grooming more expensive than a salon?
Sometimes the price on the menu is a little higher than a salon's, but the comparison isn't apples to apples. With mobile grooming there is no drive across town, no drop-off and pick-up window, and no hours in a kennel waiting for a turn. Your dog gets one groomer's full attention from start to finish, which matters a lot for anxious, senior or reactive dogs. For many Bay Area families, getting two hours of their day back is worth more than the difference. We compare both options in mobile grooming vs. salon.
How to keep grooming costs down
- Stay on a schedule. Dogs groomed every 4 to 8 weeks rarely mat, so they rarely need the dematting add-on.
- Brush between visits. Even 5 minutes a few times a week makes a big difference. See our at-home brushing guide.
- Pick the right service. Short-coated dogs often only need a bath & brush, not a haircut.

Frequently asked questions
How much does mobile dog grooming cost in the Bay Area?
At Woofers Dog Spa, a bath & brush costs $99 to $149 and a full haircut costs $129 to $199, depending on your dog's size. Nail trim is always included.
Why does a matted dog cost more to groom?
Mats take extra time to remove without hurting the skin, and very tight mats are kinder to shave off. That's why heavy matting may need a $45 dematting or shave-down add-on. We always ask you first.
Do I have to pay a deposit to book?
No. Booking is free. You pay after the groom with cash, Zelle or Venmo.
